Calculator FAQs

Start with the IRMAA Calculator if your income is above $109,000 (single) or $218,000 (married). It has the biggest impact on what you'll pay. Then use the Total Medicare Cost Calculator for a complete picture.

Results are based on your inputs (income, age, months, etc.) and official 2026 CMS rates. Medigap estimates are ranges since premiums vary by insurer, state, and health history. No personal information is collected or stored.

For 2026 Medicare premiums, enter your 2024 MAGI (Modified Adjusted Gross Income). IRMAA always uses income from two years prior. If your income has dropped significantly since 2024, you may be able to appeal the determination.

Medicare Advantage (Part C) bundles Parts A and B coverage through a private insurer. You still pay the Part B premium ($202.90/month standard), plus any additional plan premium. The Advantage vs Original calculator helps you compare total costs.

Medigap estimates show typical premium ranges for each plan. Actual premiums vary significantly by insurance company, your state, age, gender, and tobacco use. Use the estimates as a starting point, then get quotes from multiple insurers in your area.
